Haunted Portrait Gallery Cookies

These spooky and delicious haunted portrait gallery cookies will delight both your taste buds and your imagination These chocolate chip cookies serve as a canvas for creating ghostly faces that will add an artistic and eerie touch to your Halloween festivities.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Assorted edible food colors
  • Edible food markers

Instructions:

Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk

When the butter is soft, add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract

Beat the ingredients together in a different large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy

One egg at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing only until everything is well combined

Add the semisweet chocolate chips and mix them in

Place spoonfuls of cookie dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden

After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way down

Once the cookies are completely cool, paint ghostly faces on them with edible food coloring to make them look like a haunted portrait gallery

After painting the faces, use edible food markers to give them scary features and expressions

Let the designs dry on the cookies before you serve them or put them away
