Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F
Use cooking spray that is non-stick to grease a donut pan
Combine the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, granulated sugar, and salt in a sizable mixing bowl
Mix the melted butter, egg, buttermilk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl
Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
Pour the batter into each cavity of the greased donut pan, filling it to about two thirds full
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean and the donuts bounce back when touched
As the donuts bake, make the cinnamon-sugar coating by combining the ground cinnamon and granulated sugar in a shallow bowl
After the donuts are done, take them out of the oven and let cool for a short while in the pan
After the donuts are safe to handle, take them out of the pan, brush each one with melted butter, and coat it with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar
Enjoy your delectable baked cinnamon-sugar donuts with maple syrup after serving
